Welcome to Mythic Mothers. My name is Melissa Clarke. I am a mother of five, wife of one, and Mythopoetic & Depth-Oriented Maternal Practitioner.
Here, I plunge into the deep forest of ancient myths and stars, where the old gods and goddesses whisper from the depths, and the path of the mother is seen as a sacred, wild, perilous quest.
Motherhood rips us open. It drags us down into the underworld, through grief, rage, exhaustion, and longing, until the surface life we thought we knew shatters. And yet, it is in that very darkness, the chaos, the disorientation, the descent, that our true self waits. And in that stripped-down, raw place, we lift our eyes to the night sky and see ourselves mirrored in the stars, fierce and infinite, a story written across the cosmos and etched into our bones.
The heart of Mythic Mothers is to bring back the medicine of stars and story to the hands of mothers, where they have always belonged. For the world needs more mothers who who remember the fire in their bones.
I look forward to connecting, sharing our stories, and walking through the fires of transformation together. As a free subscriber, you get access to all of my past and current posts. To become a part of the monthly Mothers’ Cauldron circle, upgrade to a paid subscription. This circle of mothers meets the first Sunday of each month at 10am-12pm PT. This is your place to lay down what’s heavy, to be witnessed, and to remember the ancient knowing that lives within your bones. As a paid subscriber stepping across this threshold, you join a lineage of women who have gathered in sacred remembrance, who have wept, raged, prayed, and told stories around the fire since time immemorial.
Warmly,
Melissa
